Gah, so much to do!
I love travelling once I'm actually out and doing it, but man do I hate the preparations part. Packing, taking care of last minute stuff, it sucks. Blech.
EDIT:
When the going gets tough...
So what have I been doing for the last 20 minutes? Enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee while reading the NYTimes. Because see, I know that all this stuff that needs to get done, will get done. I will finish grading student papers, I will finish reading Vanity Fair, I will get packed, I'll go to the library, I'll get those last minute things I need. I know I will. Because that's how I work, I get shit done.
And because I know that it's all gonna get taken care of, I'm not worried, and I know I can happily spend some time reading the news and listening to Wu-Tang. It's a curious trait that seems to be common among alumni of my college, actually. The "oh shit, I have so much to do. I'm gonna go do something totally unrelated for an hour. Not because I'm procrastinating, because I'm so fucking arrogant that not only do I know that I can do it all, but I can do it in even less time than originally alotted insufficient amount. Sure can."
And you know what this means? This means that in some 30 hours, I will be in Honduras, building houses, after pulling an all-nighter. And Monday night I will sleep soooooo well. At last.
