Wayull, we had a yard sale yesterday and although we didn't sell nearly as much as I had hoped we DID make somewhere in the neighborhood of $100.00...which wasn't too bad I guess...I'm used to yard sales in Houston though...where you make like $400.00! But oh well...the mad rush here was like the gentle trickle there...the last yard sale I had in Houston, there were four adults running it and it was all we could do to keep up with all the people. Here, it was just me sitting out there taking money...and there was no line...and I was out there an hour before anyone even showed up! In Houston, there are 20 people standing out on your front lawn an hour before you open your garage door waiting to be the first one to browse your items....so yeah...another one of those cultural differences that is difficult to get used to. But anywho...we're going to pack up the rest of it today and take it over to Salvation Army....it was odd though...we met a lot of our neighbors yesterday...which NEVER happened in Houston! lol
I have been in a MAJOR arts and crafts mood lately. I've been sewing and altering clothes for the kids, and I got started watching HGTv last night...Design on a Dime..I LOVE that show..and now I'm all wanting to transform our garage into a 4th bedroom...we just don't have the money to do that right now..but god I want to! I just wish I would have thought about that back when we DID have the money! But I was wanting to stain and re-finish our oldest's furniture...we'll be moving her in there since her furniture is almost as big as ours and she REALLY needs more space. Anyway, there are just so many things I want to do. You know...if Ijust took the time to do one thing at a time I would probably accomplish a lot...my problem is I get all these things i want to do at one time, so I start on all of them...then I get overwhelmed and end up with a hundred little unfinished projects....I need to focus.....HA...use the force! LOL I'm really not a Star Wars geek...but I do like it a LOT! LOL
There was something else I was going to say, but I can't remember what it was now soooooo......

And yes, yard sales could get almost violent in VA, people are like stalkers there..if they know youo are gonna have one, they sit outside you house waiting. Every old person becomes like a bad P.I., and people even put up signs to tell people to not look around untill the placve it totally set up. It reminds me of the day after Christmas shopping. A friend of mine was telling me about when his Mom went to one of those an that old ladies literally roll under the roll-cage as the employees are opening the stores..lol..I think that's like.....hilarious.
I'm a substance light weight so I can't relate on the rest.
Scare ppl away with your freakiness?! Pfft pansies.
