THE GUILD OF ACQUIRED TECHNOLOGY
The G.O.A.T. consists of audio/visual artists and inventors
who recycle and repurpose discarded technology. Part lecture,
part performance, tonight's large scale video presentation of
what is happening on the actual circuit boards of their devices
will educate and motivate the audience to participate in the
current edge of DIY inexpensive underground electronics.
Tonight's G.O.A.T. features the electronics of Eric Bertrand,
Hoggle, Shannon Korchinski, Dan Layne, Patrick McCarthy,
and Tommy Stephenson.
THE MACHINIST
Brian Klein will be using two analogue tape decks and an
array of special effects units to loop and alter the sounds
of various devices from toys to synths.
SATAN 2000
By looping common electronic effects units into each other,
with no input from any outside source material at all,
Satan 2000's equipment starts to feedback on itself,
resulting in a lush rhythmic pulsing hum that can
become either ambient or deafening.
MR. FUCKHEAD
This DIY musician works by sending too much information into
a sequencer which renders programming that is unrecognizabe,
random, and organic. He redirects phrases into others, which
changes the dynamics of the sound, culminating in an
"orchestrated malfunction."
Please come see me. I've had a horrible week, so I'll take out my anger and frustration on my rig. Oh yeah, I'm part of the GOAT.
