wow, i don't know what to do...
last night, i went on a todd solondz binge after watching palindromes for the second time; i went out and rented both welcome to the dollhouse and storytelling.
watching these movies created the most intense 4 hour block of humiility in my life... welcome to the dollhouse is the script i've been working on for the past few weeks. storytelling was going to be my next project, once school was over.
i really don't understand.. this is the strangest fucking coincidence ever. and i really don't know what to do about my screenplay - it has to keep its distance, but my teacher told me earlier this week to quit running from this story.
i feel, at this point, like i've been trying to write the brilliant screenplay that todd solondz wrote years ago without even knowing it. now that i do know it, what will i do with it?
of course, there are some major differences, but we share a couple major themes. and honestly, i like what he did with them better.
fuck it. i'm done tripping about this...
todd solondz's story was quite different from mine... we share some premises, but we have different motives and different executions. i'm not going to let him stop me from turning my melodrama into a satire either.
fuck that.
