thank you all so much for your birthday wishes...
i'm writing a story, and i'm having a really hard time with it. it's kinda abstract. anyway, i'm a retard when it comes to writing stories... i have no idea how to develop this shit into something that makes sense.
any tips on story development?
what do you like from your stories?
what the most common thing that's left out of the stories you consume that leaves you feeling unfulfilled?
what pisses you off most about a bad storyteller?
i like stories best when they're not written by me.

I usually just brainstorm and write until I come up with something I like. Then it comes to putting all that together into something relatively cohesive..
I think a lot of what has to do with my dissatisfaction with certain stories is they're either too long or too short. Like something's developed too much or too little.
How was your birthday?
So stories....my suggestion is if you include dialoge don't do the he said, she rambled, they screamed... I hate that because you can believe a dialogue when it's written as spoken but not when it's all noted, stammered, cried, you know what I mean.
later skater, she said.
see? it's lame.
