Really great, but really busy last couple of days.
I got to spend an evening hanging out with the super awesome Rexx and her boy CJ, it was his birthday so we did shots of Jameson together. Got to hear his band play and they are damn talented. Lots of energy, which is awesome.
I was glad I got to both see Rexx and return the favor in seeing the band. It meant a lot to me when they came to see Malthus in Richmond.
I may also be booking his band in the future! This weekend we also came to a settlement on this venue. Banks had been dicking me over for months on my loan. We realized we just weren't going to get the money to go as big as I wanted. So a compromise was made and we're starting smaller. 400-500 person venue instead of 1500+.
We'll build up. We'll prove that we can make this work and grow from here. So today I got contracts signed and wrote the biggest check of my life.... $10,000..... It's scary still to think about it...
Construction starts tomorrow and we hope to have our first show on the 10th in the space - yeah... we're moving that fast. The place won't be COMPLETE, but it'll be ready enough for a show. Grand Opening on it likely won't happen until October.
Already looking at booking Helmet in there. Already have Darkest Hour booked. Malthus will be opening for Darkest Hour.
Great great things.
Also it looks like Malthus will be opening an online store within the month and shipping our merchandise nationwide and beyond. I'll hook you all up with the links when it's done. CD is wrapping up too. Which means as that stuff gets wrapped up new music is being worked on for the next album!! We never stop....
Life is super good, but super busy.
Now if only I could get laid on a regular basis.... but where would I find the time?!?!
