Oh man... what a weekend!
I really needed it. It was non-stop busy, but I enjoyed every damn minute of it.
Friday night the band played at The Half Shell here in VA Beach, we were opening for Diecast (some people may know who that is). Was a good show, decent turn out, we had a good time. Saturday I spent most of the day celebrating my buddy Nate's unbirthday (we didn't get a chance to celebrate his birthday ON his birthday) and then drove up to Richmond to hang with Seeress.
The plan was to see Rocky Horror Picture show with Seeress, but.... well... like any good thing in life, it ended up vastly different than originally planned. Despite not going as planned, I had a great time and was happy to have a chance to have some laughs and good conversation with her. She also taught me the wonders of Lady Grey tea... that shit was good. And was probably the only thing that kept me awake for the drive home...
Sad to leave, I headed back here where Sunday I had another show at the Norva for this year's VA Deathfest! Something like 20 bands in 12 hours! It was chaos!!! But lots of fun, and lots of good bands. Crowd was really great, responded to us very well, I got asked for a drumstick from a fan
I left the Norva early, didn't get to see all the bands because I was falling asleep standing up. Headed back to my crib and crashed for a few hours before getting up to hang with my buddy RC and then go to bed again, hahaha.
This morning I feel like I could have used more recovery time. But the tiredness is just a constant reminder of how great a weekend it was.
Today I left work early and I'm about to start studying for my Security+ exam which I take on Wednesday. Wish me luck, last time i took it I failed by 1 question (SON OF A BITCH!).
I also really want to get Resident Evil 5....
I also want to watch one of my new Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes....
I also need to start writing more of my upcoming D&D campaign (woot super nerd stuff!) which will involve a Lovecraftian plot to awaken long dormant Old Gods, cults, people going mad, and general paranoia and fear. I've never been involved in a game that really focused on those elements as a theme so I'm pretty excited to get into something new, and provide my players with something new too.
