This morning I awoke from a surreal dream involving a huge coconut rolling Rube Goldberg Machine. I have no idea what it did beyond roll coconuts. The dream was set to Harry Nilssons, Coconut Song "Lime in the Coconut."
A large flock of Macaws sat perched in a tree knocking coconuts into the machine. The coconuts would then travel the length of the absurd cartoony machine which seemed to have no purpose beyond transporting coconuts about the rain forest. Macaws sat perched along the course of the machine like a crowd watching a mardi-gras parade. They flapped, they squawked, they sang along to the soundtrack on the dream.
" Put the lime in the coconut and drank it all up."
When I awoke Kess had climbed of her perch and seated herself on my chest; so the first thing I saw was a Macaw staring at me. It was very disturbing in that surrealist coincidence way.
