Ill tell you I loved the army up until a few weeks ago. I get called by some former soldiers of mine asking me to come to look after them and make sure they get home safe from drinking. They are drunk to the point of no return running around residential neighborhoods and acting stupid. And all the while I'm driving around looking for them. I do get one to stop being an idiot yet the other disappears. She happened to go visit a co worker in our unit so I go to pick her up. Yet as I get to the Co workers house another former soldier of mine took it upon himself to pick her up on his motorcycle. Whether he was drinking I don't know but he left and I waited at his house to bring the drunk female soldier back so I can take her home. 20 minutes pass and I call him and her and end up spending all night looking across base for them. Come morning I call the police and ask if they have seen them and find out they were in an accident. She being in the ICU and most likely paralyzed from the neck down for the rest of her life and he having a fracture in his neck and broken arm. In the end though the unit looks for someone to blame and as the highest ranking it falls on me cause I was there before the accident happened. They want to punish me cause I am of a higher rank then they are. It only makes it hurts that much more to know that to care for others is punishable in the military.

Better go to JAG!

Already have they told me that if the unit attempts to push the issue it will get thrown out and they can not punish me for trying to do the right thing. Needless to say they can still make my life hell which they have. But thanks. I take it your in the service?
