I just watched High Fidelity. Yeah, I realize it is almost three years old and Nick Hornby is SO trendy right now. But still.
Speaking of trendy. I hate all those fucking hipsters who decided Nick Hornby was cool and made him an NYT best seller and think that if you didn't discover him before 1998 there is something wrong with you. They make it seem as if you are hopping on the bandwagon. Well, fuck you hipsters. Fuck you all! I discovered Nick Horby all by myself. Granted, I came across him because he edited a book of short stories with Zadie Smith and Dave Eggars in it but still, I discovered him on my own. No NYT BEstseller list. No friendly recommendations. Just me. So HA! (there, I said it. now back to normal)
That said, I think we all have a little high fidelity in us. Who doesn't know and love their fair share of music geeks? How often do we romanticize people and relationships, almost as a masochistic way of torturing ourselves? Are we EVER the assholes in relationships?
I don't know, I like John Cusack and I could see little bits of my neuroses, guiltiness and obssesive pondering in his character. Hmmm.
So, I am going to digest a bit more. Don't be surprised if you hear about this again.

Yeah, I sometimes feel like the token Mexican at school.
Ogre Battle rocks when the lecture is boring and there are around 70 people in class.
