Dogs don't wear pants is what the dominatrix tells her slave the first time she enters her dungeon. a Finnish film, about the relationship of this non-couple, but mainly about a man finding his place after having lost his wife drowned in an accident, since then he sees life going on and does nothing but his daily obligations: work and care of your teenage daughter, even if it doesn't take long. On a day when he takes his daughter to have a tongue piercing, he discovers on the floor of the tattoo parlor the dungeon of Mona, the dominatrix that arrives making a big impact. and it was there that he discovered his pleasure in being hanged. at first we thought it would be a crazy and meaningless film, even superficial, but .... The film is dense and surprising.
The delivery of the characters is captivating and the art direction is impeccable. The type of film that presents a side of life in society that we are not used to, recognizes that it exists, but it does exist and is more common than one might think.
when our character is subjected to the humiliations and punishments of his owner, he is in a battle between being alive and being dead, a person who had the life of people in his hands, would be giving his life, literally to her. the film deals a lot with the character's feeling of pain, the refuge he seeks, or trying to end his suffering, I think that was what impacted me the most.
I found it interesting how the film ends, leaving us in doubt if what happened was real or just an idealization.
the film has a photograph and an excellent soundtrack, not to mention the representation in the type of focused aesthetic, which is punk.
I hope you like the indication, and tell me if you've seen it and what your impression is.
