Hello Sgworld, hello @missy @rambo @jacqueline ❤
Today's blog is about my next set ''The princess strikes back''
To promote the 1983 film Star Wars: ''Return of the Jedi'', an actress Carrie Fisher, played by the unforgettable Princess Leia, posed for the lens of photographer Aaron Rapoport, in an essay for the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.
The images werw taken on a California beach and show Fisher, or rather, leia wearing the iconic slave outfit alongside Darth Vader and other characters in the film.
This is the inspiration and aesthetic tht i brought to my set, i hope you like him a lot!! 💖
When i came up with the idea of making this set, i researched a lot about it, and at the time, the costume ended up causing controvery because of the sexualization of the character. The photos that are not unknown to fans of the franchise have surfaced after the released of ''The Force Awakens'' (2015) and show not only leia, but all the main characters from episode VI.
In the film, Princess Leia become a slave to Jabba the Hutt and is forced to wear the outfit. In the middle of a mess caused by the Rebel Alliance, the princess uses the chain that kept her attached to Jabba to kill him strangled.
Carrie commented on a controversial case involving slave clothing, created by Aggie Guerard Rodgers and Nilo Rodis-Jamero. The American press reported taht parents thought princess Leia's dolls wearing the 'bikini' were inappropriate, as the would not know how to explain to their daughers why she was dressed like that.
Her response to this was typical of the actress, always frank and objective in the interviews. ''Tell them that a giant slug captured me and forced me to wear thst stupid outfit and i killed it because i didn't like it...
controversal or not, this costume made the head and imagination of many, and many famous people have already used it as a costume.
The princess strikes back, it's happiness after death of the disgusting jabba.
The princess that has to stay in the imaginarium of the audience, should not be the one displaced as a subdued woman, lying down in front of the tyrant Hutt, but the one that chokes the captor with the chains that kept her locked. - "I crushed his neck with the chains, enjoying every single moment of that, cuz' I hated to wear that costume and that static sitting forever position. I could not wait to kill him.... But now im free! Use the chains around you to strangle what keeps you imprisoned!"
only 5 days left to be available in member review 💖✨
*an important fact about this set, was the challenge to do it, both for me and for the @jaitjunior we wokw up verry early to go to the beach, not to have many people, it was all very fast, and it was difficult for me, i am very thin and light, so the strength of the waves was hard work, which marked everyone. And had the wonderful girls helping me and making it fun @miacherry @lilxlith 💖
That's it, I hope you like it!! and see you there 💚💚
