A date widely publicized by films, musics and stories that tend to controversy pagan festivals, I wanted to show a particular song that represents that date and the spirit of Walpurgis Night ✨(
FAUN - WALPURGISNACHT ) ✨
I even recommend you listen to it while reading this blog !!
Takes place in the early hours of April 30 until dawn on May 1. It is a very old pagan celebration, celebrated in northern Europe and Scandinavia, symbolizing the end of winter and the arrival of spring. On these occasions, candles and bonfires were lit to symbolize the passage of winter and the beginning of the growing season in the fields, reproduction of animals.
Alcoholic beverages were widely consumed, people painted and fantasized and games and plays were made. These celebrations were attributed the ability to scare away evil spirits, as the doors of the underworld would be open at this time. The pagans in general celebrated to attract good energies in this resumption of the cycle, while some in isolation idolized and sacrificed their spirits considered "evil" on this date, due to the energy charge attributed to it.
During the Middle Ages, all were put in the same basket by the Catholic Church, which started to consider the date as something really dark, where the “witches” carried out their “Sabas of worshiping the devil”. Inspired by this mythology, in 1969 Anton Lavey created his Church of Satan.
There is obviously nothing really macabre or dark at this time. There are only the energetic charges and the thinner veil between the physical and the astral - and whoever chooses the real nature of their rituals is the practitioner himself. The Catholic Church itself appropriated the date and name, creating the “Santa Walpurga festival”.
One of the possible roots of the festival's name would be this:
“Walpurgis” is a pagan-inspired name, which comes from “Wal” (meaning pile of dead or battlefield) and “bergs” (protect), or, according to another etymological interpretation, “Purag” (castle or fortified city, which is defended in battle, or, according to others, castle of the dead). "
I really wanted this one in the light of the stars next to a beautiful fire, in my elf dress, dancing and jumping, but in quarantine times, what I have to do is do it at home, light your incense and put on music, drink and have fun <3
moreover, may is my month, and now just 11 more days for my birthday !! ✨✨🎂
be well, blessed be!🍀🍀
