hello SGland !! today's blog is about the phenomenon of the "blue snow moon" you know what? and how did it come about?
The phenomenon gets its name because Native American tribes and people from all over Europe used to name the moons based on the attributes they associated with the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere. Thus, the full moon in February is called the Snow Moon because of the heavy snowfalls that normally occur throughout the month in some parts of the world. Some tribes called it the Hunger Moon, because the winter weather created difficult hunting conditions and food shortages.
The best period to observe the Snow Moon will be the night of next Saturday (8), when it will reach its highest point in the sky around midnight. While not the biggest moon of the year, like the "Snow Super Moon" that occurred in February 2019, this weekend's Moon will be the fourth fullest and brightest, according to EarthSky.
In much of the world the time period to observe this Super Moon in the coming days will be sometime between Friday night and Sunday!!💙
I'm already in the mood of the snow moon: 💙❄
Good weekend to everyone!! enjoy the moon, be blessed 💙😘
