very little missing for my next set ''Your Love Redeems Me'' inspired by one of my favorite movies (favorite stories) the phantom of the opera. I will talk a little about my set and about this story (specifically the 2004 film directed by Joel Schumacher, and with a screenplay by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Joel Schumacher, based on the novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux.)

Well, the story is about the strange case of Fantas da Ópera (obvious) and its supposed relationship with Christine Daaé, a young singer who suddenly ascends. Of course, the musical has a lot more to offer.

the soundtrack marked me intensely, the photography and costumes are wonderful, full of details, so as not to go unnoticed by our eyes. unlike most people, I didn't hate Christine. On the contrary, I understood it. Now, the girl imagined that the Phantom was an Angel, something divine and unreachable, something palpable only in her mind. She was a young girl and after all she wanted to be happy, she wanted to have the opportunity to have real love. And then, even though he knew that the Phantom was not so impalpable, he ends up scaring her, not by his appearance but by his behavior.

In general, this independent value of the work is shown in the well-planned junction of the theatrical, musical and drama. It sounds like a dream, when the black and white scenes appear and the flowers have their close-up, what passes is control of a faithfully inspired project.

a little about your history...

The Phantom of the Opera is a French gothic fiction novel, written by Gaston Leroux and initially published in chapters, between September 1909 and January 1910.
Narrating the story of a musical genius with the deformed face that lives in the catacombs of a Paris opera, the work was remarkable, bringing the mysterious protagonist to the French and international imagination.
However, the figure of the Phantom of the Opera has been widely popularized for its cinematic and theatrical adaptations, especially that of musical theater performed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe, on Broadway, in 1986.
The show continues on stage until today, setting a record of permanence and becoming the most watched musical ever.
The novel tells the dramatic story of a talented musician who, due to his deformed face, distances himself from all society, inhabiting the catacombs of Paris. At the opera, he falls in love with Christine, the young orphan to whom he gives singing lessons during the night.
Christine meets Raoul, the new patron, who was her childhood love. The Ghost, jealous, kidnaps her and takes her to her quarters, under the opera, believing that she will love him. Christine takes off her mask to see your face. He sees his disfigured face and he orders him to return to the theater.

When he realizes that the soprano is going to run away with his beloved, he kidnaps her again and decides to force her to marry, under threat of killing Raoul. Erik shares a moment of intimacy with the girl, telling her past and crying. He ends up letting Christine leave with Raoul.

For years, at night, she listens to his voice and he teaches her to sing, saying that he is the "Angel of Music".

The mysterious figure declares his love for the singer and claims that he needs her voice to bring his musical compositions to life. Curious, she lifts the mask and sees his deformed face. He assumes a violent behavior, shouting and hitting the soprano. Then, emotionally, he confesses his suffering and desire to be like others.

Several readings and interpretations may arise regarding Leroux's novel. Despite all the crimes he commits and to exhibit aggressive, self-centered and obsessive behavior, the figure of the Phantom has won the sympathy and compassion of his audience.

In fact, although threatening, the figure also shows his most sensitive side, his heart hurt with the world that rejected him. Despite his unquestionable musical talent, he is forced to live in the shadows, because the deformation on his face frightens everyone who knows him.

In this sense, this seems to be a story of marginalization for those who are different, who are outside the current standards and, therefore, have no opportunity to shine or rise in life.

Ghost's obsession with Christine may arise from his need for social and human contact. Through singing lessons, over the years, the lonely man is forming an emotional bond with the girl.
This theory is reinforced with the outcome of the relationship. When Christine kisses your face, the Ghost feels, for the first time, loved and understood. The soprano's gesture seems to be the validation and acceptance he needed, leaving her to leave later.
Another common analysis is that which points to Raoul as a symbol of loving and family life, while the Phantom would be a metaphor for art itself. Like the Phantom, Christine's art, the lyrical song, would be a strict and demanding master who intended to occupy all his time and dominate his life.
The love triangle would then be the young woman's inner conflict, divided between bourgeois life, the desire to marry and raise a family and the ambition to achieve excellence in her soprano career.

fun facts about "The Phantom of the Opera"

1- In the original novel, Gaston Leroux argues that he is telling a real story, presenting reports and documents that were intended to prove the veracity of the narrative.

2- Over the course of three decades, the Broadway musical has grossed more than $ 1 billion.

3-In the 2004 film, to make the flames look realistic during the fire in the theater, the production caught fire on the sets.

4- Joel Schumacher's film was funded by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who invested $ 6 million in the production.

5-The musical has been translated into more than 15 languages, including Russian, Hungarian and Korean.

I wanted to bring to my set some essential details, inspired by the scene with Rauol, like colors, feeling and passion The Point of No Return

it was the most artistic set I’ve ever done, I’m really looking forward to it, my friend @jaitjunior , he did a great job, both with the ideas, the clicks, his editing, the color palette of the film, it was all done by him, when comes to cosplay he studies a lot, I couldn't do it with someone else!!
