hello dear Sgland ^^
As the first blog of the year, I come to commit a little about this fantastic work and unknown to most, especially because it is a film of 1985, Angel's Egg or Tenshi no Tamago, literally "Angel's Egg" directed by Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, Blood: the Last Vampire, Platabor) in collaboration with artist Yoshitaka Amano (known for illustrating the Final Fantasy game franchise) , being produced by Deen studio and Tokuma Shoten (My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke's Nausica of the Valley of the Wind), then it is clear that at least this work was produced by a respected class. However, at the time of release the film was not well received by critics and the public, being considered a "fiasc" so to speak, but Angel's Egg is one of those works that over time add cult status and is finally recognized. your genius.
It is full of symbolism that may or may not mean something about something.
well, let's go the story ... everything goes in a post-apocalyptic world, without any indications of life (whether human or vegetable) is where we see a little girl with her pink surroundings with a depressing look, at some point she discovers a giant egg and decides to take care of him, protecting him from breaking, she carries him inside her.
the egg seems to be as precious as your life, for after all it is your only company in this dark and macabre world we find ourselves in.
At this point a mysterious man appears, looking blank and apparently interested in the contents of the egg. and that's what makes them get close.
both characters set out on their journey where they interact very little, but with rich dialogues such as '' who are you? ''
for them all that exists is the present moment, with all its dark passing, there is no past or future, time does not exist.
the man questions why so much care, saying "will you know what's inside if the egg breaks '' but that little object was too precious for the girl to easily deliver, every way is a reflection on who we should trust, and what people are capable of doing. He was also curious to discover a new life in this scenario of emptiness and loneliness.
I would say it's a movie for you to draw your own conclusions based on your worldview, what is for me may not be for you.
It is not an anime for entertainment but to internalize...
as a symphony of images, where we see darkness, sadness, unseen worlds, but we see delicacy
purity, in my view this girl is in the light, she emanates an inner light unusual with the scenery, Like something I heard from a friend about me, this girl shines in the dark.
Do not expect a plot like any other, as Angel's Egg does not have it, when you finish watching you will come out with more doubts than when you started watching and this is natural as we are presented with a tangle of symbologies, metaphors and visual concepts. out of context. Once, when asked what Angel's Egg was about, the creator himself said he did not know what it was about! That to create this work was used only the juxtaposition of his rich imagination.
I am happy to be the first blog of the year, it was a light for me, I hope it is for you too if you decide to watch, and if it happens, go with an open mind and unleash your imagination, things happen and do not always make sense, we question ourselves a lot.
