Second and last Ravnica prerelease was fun.
Despite having 5 minutes to sort my card pool, make a deck, and put the cards in card sleeves, I managed to go 2-2 in the sealed deck tournament. I got Circu, Dimir Lobotomist again, and this time didn't have to give him up, as well as 2 (!!) of the new hotness duel lands, temple garden (W/G) and Watery Grave (B/U). So just on those three cards alone, I more than covered the cost of both tournaments I played in.
The second tourney was a booster draft, which I tried for the first time with the Kamigawa sets, and lost pretty much every game. This time, I drafted a solid G/W deck that I managed to place second with. I was very very pleased, because the prior booster draft left me questioning if I was a good Magic player at all. I credit being more familiar with Ravnica than the Kamigawa sets, and not making many mistakes when playing the deck. The guy I lost to truly had the best deck, he drafted close to strictly blue and both games he got out fliers early that I just didn't have anything that was an answer for them. But given the circumstances, I played as well as I could, and there was honor in the defeat. His kung-fu was best, and I still got 4 packs as a prize anyway.
I bought some packs after that, 3 9th edition, 3 Chapions of Kamigawa and 3 Betrayers Of Kamigawa, I'll post about those later. I need to go switch laundry, have some me time, then watch some Witch Hunter Robin.
All in all, pretty good day.
