Just about lost my Dad yesterday...... Don't know how he's made out as good as he has. If I did not believe in miracles before, I might just have to start.
Yesterday afternoon, my Dad, who's 55 was in a serious motorcycle accident. For those who know the Oshawa area at all, it took place at the intersection of King St. (Hwy. 2) and Harmony Rd. He's been riding a Harley since he was a kid, and the guy he was riding with was a Canadian Motorcycle champ back in the 70's, so, they both knew what they were doing.
A lady, who was apparently distracted, drove through a red light while they were travelling through the intersection on a green and hit Dad. He was thrown from his motorcycle, bounced off a portion of the car, and flew over the car landing on the other side. He is a very fortunate man....And I, am a very fortunate Son. Thankfully, no one else was injured.
In comparison to what could have happened... He is the luckiest man alive right now... He suffered a fractured rib, a bruised lung, blood in his sinus cavity, and a plethora of scrapes. gashes, and cuts... He's banged up and in a lot of pain...But, he's alive. And that is what matters... We were very concerned that he may have broken his neck, but somehow, he did not. The C/T Scans showed up negative, and he is going to be alright... In a lot of pain for the next while, but alright. He'll be back on the bike next season. He landed on the pavement head on.....But again, he'll walk away from this.
Spent the day with him yesterday. It was tough to see him like that... Today, though very sore... he was a bit more talkitive... He'll be in the hospital for the next few days. But, he'll be o.k. Love you Dad.
Shit like this really put things in perspective.

I am sending my thoughts and prayers to your dad. My dad got into a big accident while driving home from work a few years ago, so I can understand how you must be feeling.
Thank you for your kind words and support, although my problems seem very selfish and short-sighted now. I am truly greatful to have you as a friend.
Talk to you soon. Cheers.
