So here is what happened...
There was this fuse... and the flame on the end of that fuse was so beautiful... the sparks were white and blue... they were bright and twinkled like Christmas lights...
And the little naked child within me, innocently walks up to the flame and says, "Ooooh.... pretty..."
The soft innocent part of me thought perhaps that the pretty flame was going on it's way to someplace wonderful... maybe ithe frlame was following the fuse to a candy store, or a circus, or something equally wonderfully child-like...
An adult voice within me warned, "Ummm... wait... bad idea!" But even the adult voice thought that the sparkly flame was so beautiful, that perhaps it lead to something wonderful...
Maybe it wasn't a fuse to a bomb at all... maybe it was a fuse to a roman candle...
... and I stared at it and stared at it... smiling all the while as the sparkly flame burned the fuse shorter and shorter.... eventually burning itself out....

It's a 12g surface bar. And yes, having one while doing martial arts would be a very very bad idea. I've had mine catch once and it is a very bad pain indeed.
