another rant/ basis for a artpiece...
In ancient Greece it was said that every poet was a warrior how true
A warrior is a person who lives poetry, whos every action is an expression, a testament to the dream inside them, a dream so powerful that the warrior becomes a vessel, they are the pen and their blood the ink. A warrior is driven, driven by this dream to see past fear, to see past doubt. A warrior has made the ultimate decision; a warrior has chosen life, the only kind of life that matters.
Ultimately, we are all dead men. This is a universal truth, and a basis for the warrior spirit; for when we realize that death is truly inevitable, it frees us to follow our hearts, and if every path we may choose in life all leads to the same place, what criteria is worth considering? What path is worth following? Death is inevitable; it comes to us all. But life, true life, must be sought out; this phrase is truly clich, but do not let that rob it of its truth. Heart is the only criteria for ones heart will show them life. Every creature is different, every soul is different and therefore every path is different. Ones path cannot be dictated by another, we must seek a path of heart for ourselves, and make the decision to follow it. For a warrior, there is no choice, for the heart, the soul of a warrior will not let the body walk a path without heart. The soul will twist and fight and tear the body and mind to shreds, it will not be contained and will not be lied to, the soul is truth. And truth is what the warrior seeks. That is to say, a warriors life is a constant struggle to manifest the truth in their spirit. A warrior lives by ideals, every day, every hour. To be a warrior is to constantly refine ones self, to push harder to be as strong, as honest as their spirit. A warrior fights, fights the greatest battle of all, they fight the demons within in an effort to create their perfect self.
This fight takes many shapes, warriors often train physically, but this is only a gateway into the soul. A warrior will seek out fear, confront doubt, test themselves; because only when their ideals are confronted, when there is a price to pay for holding their ground can they be sure, be sure of themselves. A warrior, in our day and age, must take and active role in life; must reprogram the self and must fight harder than ever. A warrior must master the self, overcoming fear and doubt, strengthening the will. This is not to say a warrior is antagonistic or foolish, a true warrior values self-achievement, but only in the interest of those they fight for. A warrior seeks knowledge, knowledge to help, to save, and ultimately, to teach. By lesson or example, a warrior will, must, teach. The spirit of the warrior, knowing death more intimately than most, knows it does not have long in this world. The spirit is bound to leave the world a better, stronger place, and teaching, guiding, and empowering those who will survive us is the only way.
For this is the purpose of a warrior: a protector, a servant, and a guide. Everyone is familiar with the warrior as a protector, but to understand a warrior, a true warrior, is to understand his servitude. The warrior path cannot be walked for self. It is that simple. A warrior walks for those who lived before, those countless people and creatures who have died so we can life. From our ancestors to our teachers, the lives destroyed by the food we eat, and the gas we buy, the cities we live in and the cars we drive. Those killed by our ignorance and inaction. A warrior recognizes that, recognizes that each of us stands on a mountain of death, and must answer to them. Imagine for a moment that on your deathbed, you were confronted by everyone and everything that gave its life for your benefit every ancestor, every loved one, every teacher. Everyone who passes the smallest bit of knowledge that touched your life. And facing this jury, they show you every thing you ate, the waste you produced, the pain you caused they show you this, and ask you one question why? Why did they sacrifice this for you? What have you done to make their sacrifice worth while? What could you say? What have you done with their gift? Did you buy an expensive loft and a fast car? Or how about an extensive record collection? Could you face that jury today? How about tomorrow?
This thought drives the warrior, pushes her harder and further than any threats or promises could. This thought exists above law and dogma. what have I done what have I done the warrior mantra. Not a hopeless question but a driving force. Pushing us to be better fighters, better lovers, better listeners and better singers simply put, to be better. The warrior pushes so hard to know, not think or hope but know, if that time were to come at any moment, when she had to answer for the sacrifices that had kept alive, she could look over the faces of all those before her, and say.
