I'm wasting time, sitting in Starbucks, waiting for the evening's plans to commence.
This leads me to ponder patience...
I find that my heavily organized and regulated schedule (yes, I'm typing this on one of two BlackBerries) is continuously being foiled by the inconsistent punctuality of others. I would consider myself to be an impatient person, regularly declaring that it is one virtue with out which I'd do just fine.
However, my past experiences, present actions (or lack thereof), and future goals all point towards my status as an expert in delayed gratification.
The stream of consciousness moves on to self perception vs. actuality...
I hold self awareness in the highest of regards when it comes to qualities which I would like to have/do/be. But when it comes right down to it, my self awareness leads me to realize just how excellent we are at fooling ourselves into belief.
I heard a quote some where, some time, by someone (though I can't remember any of the specifics): "People tell you exactly who they are, and we choose not to listen." Could this be true internally, as well?
Which brings me to my final question: how much awareness is perception, how much awareness hope, and when do you know yourself well enough to know someone or something else?

Hope you are doing well Showtime!
