Well, the dog is gonna make it. And my friends kid is in a world of shit. She left the poor little bastard in the kennel with no water for at least a day, maybe more. It took me all of one night and day and part of another one to get him rehydrated. I had to offer him pedialyte and water a third of a cup at a time, twice an hour for thirty hours or so, just so he wouldnt puke it up and make us lose ground that we had made. I did get the day off from the other gig though. the kid has lost her trip to hawaii this summer. the money her folks were gonna send her with had to go to an emergency vet that didn't do a damn thing and wouldn't keep the dog overnight. These people were real fucktards, I guess vets dont have to give the same kind of care to animals that doctors have to give to us. Nearly a thousand dollars and all they did was a quick examination and put him on oxygen. No fluids, no attempts to cool him down and one quick urine test that my vet charges 15 dollars for. If my regular vet had done those things it would have been about $200. but they were gone for the holiday weekend so these predatory fucks got almost a grand, and I had to go and get the dog by midnight or it would have been another two thousand dollars, just for him to lay in a dog crate for eight hours. no other care, no medicines and no fluids. those would have cost extra. Fuck emergeny vets.
