Geez, still a rough fall, you know? I hope it is not rough for you; and hey, there's some good tv on, no?

My ankle is better, the rest of me is operating typically; i get these really rough weeks when the seasons change and i'm just in bed, being a noodle. I'd gotten to a point last week where i was doing chores about...

Well, it didn't work until I had already wasted time downloading it a second time and then researched the problem online.  There seem to be quite a few issues for some people, but I've only had one crash and a few visual bugs that went away after doing something different with my character or, at worst, reloading.  Some of the NPC dialog isn't real tight or cohesive.  But, I got over 8 hours into it yesterday without a crash.  This is only the third game I've tried at launch in the last few years, the others being Pillars of Eternity (I had kickstarted it) earlier this year and PlanetSide 2, which I had been in for beta testing.  NV and 3 had been out for months before I fired them up.  NV had a couple of broken quests that never were fixed via patches.  I think 3 only suffered from issues with my video card drivers, resulting in crashes mostly when transitioning from interior to exterior and vice-versa.  Skyrim also had some broken quests, but in general played fine with only an occasional glitch.  But, I waited months to start that one, too.  I hope you've been well and that the anxiety has diminished.

Such a newb - added not so much tags to the photos as blurbs. Got it; tags for real next time. I have a third cat but not a good picture of him here yet.

Great to hear the writing is going well.  I admire those with the ability.  Are you in the Writer's Group here?  Sorry you are having to manage pain.  It seems like there are a lot more people, primarily women, battling conditions or fuzzily diagnosed diseases in their prime than there used to be.  I'm wondering if we'll find out they are manifesting from something we've introduced into the environment over the last several decades.  Something basic like the recent discovery that AM radio interferes with birds' ability to detect magnetic north.  Meanwhile, everyone has been lamenting the decline of birds in cities and demonizing cats as a significant cause.  Sorry, got carried away with the editorializing.  I always considered getting into Elder Scrolls online when it eventually went F2P, but don't have the time.  I don't get into LotRO for months at a time, especially this year.  Pillars of Eternity was just about perfect, as far as capturing the 'old skool' feel of the 2D isometric games I fell in love with in the late 90s without feeling 'old'.  Sooooo looking forward to playing the expansion...sometime after I get bored with Fallout 4.  :/

I'm not in the writer's group, at least, not yet. I have some trouble with balancing my own output with everything else; basically if there's anything else to do besides write, i'll do that instead. When i get the discipline settled i'll likely sidle on over there.
