So I'm back from the void. ie, I once again have a working computer at home. I'll try not to cook this one.
I had it (rather pointedly) brought to my attention that I never update here. I guess that's true. I do most of my blogging on livejournal, seeing as I can access it from work. On the other hand, I've realized that I can use this space to write and post in a different vein. My other journal has a certain tone to it, and it has an audience I don't always care to share with.
That said...
2005. The year is well and truly off to an interesting start. Dreams and nightmares, heartache and break, hopes and dreams, trials and triumph... and it's not even February yet...
I've learned a lot from this chaotic dance. Though I'm now very much looking forward to spending some good time being single, I learned a lot from this last relationship, and I still have a good friend out of it. I think that's probably the best way that could have turned out.
The stress of the breakup being gone from my life will hopefully give me a bit more energy to deal with work and all the insanity there. The big presentation went off today in SF, so I can (hopefully) put that behind me and focus on the City of Hope and lab work. It's still going to be an intense few weeks getting these next pursuits put together properly, though.
On a happier note, I've started taking capoeira again! A new mestre took over at my studio, and his group's style of teaching works far better with me. That, and I have more time to invest in it at the moment. I WILL play in the roda in Center Camp this year!
I've also reclaimed a bit more time for my studies. Focusing on a bit of the biochemical basis for neural interaction right now. Hopefully that will give me a better framework on which to hang some of the more philosophical theories of cognition. The studying definitely makes me remember to keep my own chemical balance in check, and that can't be too bad a thing...
; )
Hopefully I'll remember to keep posting on this site too. I like the format, and it's definitely a community I respect and support (so I guess I should try to be a more active member of it!).
