so, some cheeky students in montreal held a major protest the other day -- blocked a highway for awhile, which i think is coool. for more reasons than one: a.) b/c they actually fucking care a little bit about protecting their opportunities to study, and b.) b/c it shows that even the uber-liberal province of quebec is willing to fuck students off over money, which is about the lowest and stupidest thing any gov't could ever do (choke its own supply of smart, learned citizens).
any folks from montreal out there? not like the rest of you canadians aren't welcome here... i know you hate each other, but let's give up for Qb once in awhile (he says in stupid American-i-don't-know-french-but-i-like-croissants english...)

Friday I'm co-hosting a pakistani miniature paintings exhibit at the gallery I volunteer at...Sounds exciting, huh? Can you imagine the wild & crazy crowd that will be attending?
I was running a quick search of the site to see if people were actually talking about this and... well, you're the only one to have mentioned it it seems!
Although not a student anymore, I was in the streets with them on March 22nd and I fully support this movement!
I'm trying to figure out how much coverage we're getting outside the province. Where did you hear about this? Do you still get some updates?
To give you a little idea, this is still going on and things are actually getting worse! Check out for yourself what happened today:
Allegedly, other groups (more drastic ones) had infiltrated the protest. Today the Province's Premier was meeting with a whole lot of wealthy business types to discuss how they're gonna exploit (destroy) our resources in the northern part of the Province. There's even a short clip of him making fun of what was going on outside, literally mocking the protesters, with everyone attending the meeting laughing loudly. Needless to say, we're pissed!
