Okay, so I just woke up after Lollapalooza. It was looking grim for a bit on Friday night on getting there and all but we made it and oh man. It was all worth it.
I was really only excited about seeing A Perfect Circle and Audioslave, so until then it was basically just walk around, and have a couple assly over-priced beers. IT was cool to see soo many hot chicks but sorta depressing to not really have much of a chance with any of them, *sigh* Anyway, then I watched the Donna's and they were okay, but pretty generic as far as material goes.
So. A Perfect Circle starts. Maynard rocks. Everyone rocks. James Iha, who I could have taken or left in Smashing Pumpkins did a bang up job with everyone else in APC. And, Twiggy Ramirez, or Jeordie White from Marilyn Manson fits in perfectly with Billy Howerdale's guitars. They played some new stuff and I was just blown away. Unfortunately, their set was pretty short. Then, Incubus played. And, while they are my favorite band named after a demon with a giant penis, I don't really like them much. So, it was beer and food time.
After Incubus....Audioslave got on stage.....oh my fucking God. Chris Cornell is soo incredible. That guy must have sold his soul for a voice like that. They rocked ass for a few songs, and then he grabs and acoustic and sings a song I will never forget.:
"I'm gonna kick it with Maynard in Seattle...
I'm gonna kick it with my homies, the homeslice people of Seatle...
Maynard's got a cowboy hat he is wearing. You will see more of that out in the East......the East....the east....then he is gonna disappear...."
So, by now I was about to die, and then Maynard comes out and they harmonize on an acoustic song and it almost made me die. After they finished I slumped to the ground and the chick that was standing next to me looked down and I told her I feel we have shared something special, so I shnould tell you I love you....And she just half smiled and looked away. Ha ha. Ahem. So, they rest of their set rocked ass. Cochise was....just....wow....And then we left, none of us really caring to stay for Jane's Addiction. Oh! And I was on the radio, haha.
Dude from The End: Hey, man, what are those guys doing?
Ian: ...They are playing basketball.
Dude from The End: Wrong! They are playing Pop-a-Shots!
Ian: I AM SUCH A FUCK ASS!!!!!
....well. everything but that last part, though in retrospect, I should have yelled that to him, haha. Anyway, that was Lollapalooza and how much it rocked.
