Dear Mr. Plagenhoef:
In response to the posting on the Pitchfork website Newswire section on Thursday, October 21st, 2004, I am applying for the position of Editorial Intern for Pitchfork Media.
I am currently enrolled in my second year at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois. My course work thus far has included numerous English and humanities studies. I plan to attend a larger university, possibly Northwestern or University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana beginning in the Fall of 2005, where I hope to pursue a major in either English, journalism, or communications. Ive spent the formative years of my life nurturing a self-driven interest in music and a well-developed manner in the expression of my personal thoughts and ideas.
As the attached resume reflects, my education and fascination with English and writing, as well as my experience with and passion for music makes me well-suited for the opening you have. I live within a half hour of downtown Chicago, and my class schedule affords me one or two days a week to work during regular business hours. Pitchfork has reflected my interests and has been a stylistic inspiration to me both in writing and design for quite a long time; I would be thrilled to offer any tangible contribution to the website that I could.
I can present any number of writing samples at your request, if needed. I am available for an interview at your convenience. Please call me at (---).---.----, or send an email to DudeIan@aol.com. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ian H. ------

But, yeah, we should hit the park like every day, possibly go to the one off Lake Shore dr that's all concrete and much bigger and pretty much empty during the day.
