Hey SG land! So I guess my last post was about my first tattoo and it feels weird that this one is about a new tattoo as well! 😅 For all the time it took me to get the first one the second one was like an instant.
So a local tattoo studio here in Lisbon (Queen of Hearts) was doing a flash day with tattoos inspired by "azulejos". For those of you who don't know, "azulejos" are a kind of very traditional Portuguese tiles that are usually white with blue filigree detailing like these (excuse the stock image):
They can be found in most towns and cities, especially on older buildings because they're usually very cold and are not used as a construction material anymore.
So the effect is kinda like a mandala. Also if you know me you know that I'm a sucker for geometric tattoos and I thought it was a great opportunity to check out the studio and get a relatively cheap but really high quality tattoo. And I gotta say the studio and the staff where absolutely top notch! 🖤🖤🖤 I liked it so much that I wanted to come back the next day! 😅
So if you're ever in Lisbon and are looking for a cool place to get a tattoo I really cannot say enough nice things about Queen of Hearts! ❤️
Also I already have plans to add to this tattoo (I know I know, I'm a fucking addict) as well as a general idea of what I want my sleeves to be like. Since I want to do a paisley pattern surrounding this one (its a childhood thing) which is a very smooth shape and my right forearm tattoo is a very aggressive shape I figured I'm going to do full geometric sleeves on both sides but the right one is going to be with really rough and pointy shapes and the left one with smoother ones. Let me know what you think of that!
So, with that said I'm just gonna do a quick little recap of some music I found in February because this is getting way too long as it is!
Covet
Instrumental math rock. Yvette young is really cute, an awesome guitar player and is absolutely enthralled in her instrument! 🖤
Arc Of The Aurora - Emergence
Really underground psychedelic rock. Great for those sessions at 4:20 pm if you know what I mean. Fall of the Colossus is an absolute monster of a 21 minute epic.
Belzebubs - Cathedrals of Mourning
Anyone who knows black metal knows the delightfully subversive comic strip of Belzebubs. They now also have a band and this is their debut album. Some great symphonic and melodic black metal! 🤘
Sulphur Aeon - The Scythe of Cosmic Caos
Three words: "Lovecraftian Death Metal". Need I say more? Great album of slightly technical death metal with a few hints of black and doom drenched in Lovecraft's lore.
And that's it!
If you made it this far thanks a lot for reading and I love you all! 🖤 #fullhomo
