Last night I woke up at about 2am and could not sleep because I had some weird stomach cramps. I don't know why, they were just happening.
Two things scared me about this. Firstly, the pharmacist whom I purchased painkillers for my back from, told me firstly to be aware of any abdominal pain in addition to my back, as it could mean that I have a problem with my appendix. Secondly, she made sure to tell me that I must take one of the pills with food. Since I was flying all afternoon yesterday and didn't have time or opportunity to have food, I was just taking the pills. My brother warned me against doing this because he said he had done this, and it made his insides bleed.
Perfect.
So as well as having a sore back and a broken little heart, I now had stomach cramps and had barely slept.
So at work today I was a walking mess. How I could have 109 emails from 4 days away, 2 of which were the weekend, I couldn't understand, and it took me all day to catch up. Not least because I was trying to drown in coffee to stay awake, which made me feel sick, or because I was fidgeting in my chair so my back wouldn't hurt.
I tried to book in to the sports physiologist in the building but he was booked up until next week. So I got an appointment at an osteopath after work. I got a lift home and since my boss is letting me use his work car while he's on holiday, I left 25 minutes before my appointment for a 10 minute drive.
Turns out, the same address occurs twice along the same street. I drove for 40 minutes, all the while having a mental breakdown in traffic, only to be at the wrong place. I called the right place and I now can't get in until tomorrow afternoon. I almost cried on the phone, and once I'd gotten off it, I threw it across the road.
I drove to find the correct place so I'd know for tomorrow. I am no good in Melbourne traffic. I don't like it. I'm an offensive driver at the best of times, but I now drive probably once every 3 months and I can't afford to be offensive in unfamiliar situations in unfamiliar cars. It's dangerous. So I just yell and hit the wheel and swear and hate every minute of it.
Every way I wanted to go was disallowed. I had to change my route 3-4 times just to get dinner. I got home and sat on the floor of my lounge room and just breathed.
