The drug problem in our house came to a grinding stand still tonight, when my mother came home to find that both of my brothers had just purchased more. She kicked them out.
This is not at all unreasonable. My mum has told them for the past month that they have the options of giving up, laying low for a few months until all the fucked up shit going on blows over, or smoke elsewhere. Apparently the raid on the house, the criminal records and the drug councilling did nothing to deter them.
Me: But haven't you learned anything from being raided and fined and everything? They'll come back - they told mum in her drug councilling. And you WILL go to jail next time. And that's going to fuck you up for everything you want to do in the future. Your job wont be there when you get out, and you'll be living in a shit little flat with your drugs and never having anything ever. Mum doens't want to go through this all again and she shouldn't have to. It was shit on me too because you KNOW how I feel about it. If you're going to do it then keep it out of the house. I'll help out with this situation as much as I can, but it's you that has to change.
Michael: Yeah I have learned something: how paranoid people are about the cops when the majority of people know the laws about this are wrong.
REGARDLESS. The laws are there. REGARDLESS OF THE LAWS - she doesn't want it in the house. My mum has done so much for us. Michael is 32 years old and he still lives at home. His meals are cooked, his clothes are washed. Daniel doesn't have a licence and is driven around everywhere, in addition to the food and washing.. he can't make it on his own. She has been sick and upset for weeks because of the initial ordeal, the consequences, and the fact that it was neighbours who dobbed us in, and have conspired between themselves to catch us out again, to the point where mum has been FOLLOWED in her car.
They are selfish. If they don't care about themselves they should at least care about mum.
Daniel was sick and upset and throwing up, and claiming that mum is ruining his life by doing this. These are the choices they've made. They've been told over and over and over and over and OVER again that to live here they had to live by her rules. And they haven't listened.
Michael's addicted. And he's old enough to look after himself. Despite the fact that he's 32 and owns a second hand TV and stereo and a bunch of old clothes (due to the fact that he spends all his money on drugs) - he can find his own place and sort himself out. Daniel worries me. I don't think I've been a good enough brother or good enough influence on him. He has to go to uni. He's never had to work out how to take a bus somewhere, or buy groceries, or cook his own meal. He has no money to do any of that anyway. Tomorrow I will call him. Because I'm sad for him. I want him to come home. I think I can get him to. I think he'll talk to me and listen to me. He has to.
Happy birthday to me.
