Pretty good night was had last night. I scrambled around the house yesterday afternoon to clean up before I had company. I mean.. there were like 30 cups and glasses that had been there for a VERY LONG TIME. I've pretty much just been dirtying another cup or glass every time I wanted a drink just so I didn't have to wash them.
My friend Sarah came over to jam with me. We were ill prepared and the results showed this. We jammed to two Used songs, I Caught Fire (Sarah: piano and vocals, Matt: drums and vocals) and Blue and Yellow (Sarah: piano and vocals, Matt: guitar and vocals). Since then we knew nothing else... I sung and played guitar for a song Todd wrote that she hadn't heard yet, then Existentialism on Prom Night by Straylight Run since it's about the only song I know. Then we proceeded to have raspberry flavoured vodka drinks, strawberry and cream shots, and pizza, all the while watching Anchorman. Played the worst game of pool in the history of mankind. And left for town with my brother and Sarah.
In town Todd had been waiting for his girl, and when we got there they were inseperable but BORING. They sat there tired and yawning and not talking. This was crap. Sarah's friend Liz, who I haven't seen since Sarah and Liz went home for uni holidays over 2 months ago, was meant to come down to the X to see us but got there after Todd and Sarah had left, and was too drunk to find me. Lu_doll came down after work to see me and many good times were had. The crazy thing about the X now is that it has a friggin beer garden. I guess it's solely to provide a legal place for people to smoke and still drink, what with the smoking laws in pubs and clubs in Queensland.
Met the whole Exchange gang, as was the purpose for the outing. I haven't seen everyone in so long so it was good. I got in the middle of a war between two girls who are hating each other over a boy. I paid lip service to them both and came out on top! Saving face is the best.
Instead of sharing a cab home with my brother, which would've left me better off financially and right now better in the tiredness stakes (I thought he'd left so t didn't even cross my mind!) I was offered a couch to sleep on at Lu_doll's awesome city apartment on the 17th floor. I totally spat over the edge of the balcony. Cheese, BBQ sauce and garlic salt on toast and sleep, and notes on the table in the morning.
And now I have to go to work.
