I just did my tax return. According to e-tax, I should be getting a refund of over $2400. Last year I got $187, and based on this information I was expecting a similar figure this year. I put it down to the fact that I now get paid fortnightly, and all the tax office sees is "ooh, $900 ey, let's tax him 25%", whereas last year it was "ooh $550 ey, let's tax him 15%". Tax brackets. This whole time I've been pissed off at my place of employment for screwing me out of extra money each week. And sure, given the chance, I'd prefer a weekly pay instead of getting a larger tax return. But if I've done it right, this money is coming at a SWEET time. I'm going to Sydney in 3 weeks, and I was facing the possibility of living on less than $100 a day whilst on holiday. This would pretty much cover food and alcohol. No buying all the CD's I've been putting off buying in order to save for my holiday. No buying awesome out of town clothes. No musical instruments. But now... oh yes. This is going to be awesome.
Fingers crossed I did it right! I feel like I'm somewhat of a pro at e-tax now, having done it for the past however many years for myself, my 2 brothers and my ex-girlfriend. Anyway. Money hooooooo.
My updates lately are really quite lacking in substance. I suppose my only news is that I friggin hate my job right now. I've been playing gigs every couple of weeks. Recording again, with the intention to get in a proper studio in a few weeks to get a nice sounding entry for JJJ Unearthed. Andddd George broke up with her boyfriend, who cheated on her with my friend Jade (who I'm going to Taste of Chaos with and will see George there), so I'm speaking to her again because it no longer hurts to think about her with someone else. I'm trying to stay grounded about the whole thing because I don't want to jump the gun and just assume I'm in the picture. I just need to play it the right way and just be a nice guy and stuff.
And of course, not sleep with married women. Because one might consider that action to be something that a nice guy wouldn't do.

$2400, ey? Sounds rockin. I'm going to do my best to come to Sydney for a weekend. I'm rich again now, and only have to work Wednesday and Friday nights, so I could head up on a Saturday morning and come back on Sunday night
