Not sure if anyone is going to see this, with all the glitches STILL going on ...
Tonight I go and empty 7 of 13 trucks for the Broadway's "Mary Poppins", tomorrow will be the rest. I'm hoping that one person, who was in the trucks with us last week, for the Pre-Rig will be replaced. Seriously, she is about 90 lbs, and can't lift shit in a paper bag! So two of us sat down with the House Steward, and wrote up formal complaint letters for the E-Board (Executive Board - voted Members, who are the ones that "govern" the Local, aside from the Body's votes)
Wednesday, I go in at 6 pm, to start as a Wardrobe Dresser. I have Show Call, for the rest of the run, which is 8 shows a week, 6 days a week, for 4 weeks. Sat/Sun being Matinee and Evening Shows ... with only Mondays off, Wed I also find out if including the shows, if I get Daily Work Calls, i.e. going in for Maintainance, such as mending/stitching, care of shoes, ironing, etc ... That will be up to "Seniority", and there are several people above me. But in the letter sent to the Local W Head, the Company is asking that we rotate those hours, as to not have anyone "burn out" ... believe me, it happens. I did Phantom a few years back, with the same run stretch, but also doing 14 hr days ...
I have been working on my '87 Subaru wagon ... trying to get in running right, and reliable.
I fixed the driver's door, it was seized up, and not opening. My friend Jesse was able to get it open, and with a door I got at the Pick-n-Pull ($45 same year and color, including interior panel) We just swapped out the inner parts, including the key tumbler, replacing all the individual teeth, so I wouldn't have to have two seperate keys, one just to open the door.
Took it in for Emmissions/Safety Inspections ... "Failed" ... Turns out the emissions are too high, and the front end Ball Joints need replacing. SImple enough, a good tune-up, and the B/J are $15 each, and while those get replaced, I will have the other CV Axle replaced ($65, with a $25 core return) ... in other words, a brand new front end!
Oh! ... and Christy bought all new tires on it as well! After all, I am getting the car going for her to use.
now to find time to have all that done ... Yes, I am just taking it to a mechanic, but the Temporary tag expires on Tues, and the Monday is Labor Day ... DMV is closed ... and my Sat is a 2 Show day ... hoping for Friday morn off, or Tues to go to the DMV ... I still get 15 days to re-test for free ...
So much for getting the car running/legal so I can go camping, before summer is over ... hope it is still good weather in Oct to at least get one trip. Christy says I can go anytime I want to ... she's not an Outdoors Type.
Also, can't go to Lagoon and get my Coaster Fix, until after Poppins, as they are now only open on weekends ... We have to get at least one more day there, to make our Season Passes worth it. Oct 2nd is "Black Lagoon Day", ... a bunch of local Goths all go for the start of "FrightMares", ... We are planning on going then ...
Here's to hoping you all see this!
