Nanowrimo is coming up in only a few weeks. That's the annual novel writing contest where the goal is to complete 20,000 words (or more, obviously, but 20,000 means you've won) within the month.
I've come close but never managed to hit the 20,000 word mark. This year might be different, but who knows? The brilliant aspect of this is that technically, everyone wins, even if you don't reach 20K words. Because you're writing...you're creating, you might eventually finish an actual novel. It's amazing how many people participate just in the Chicago area alone.
Also, I'm gonna tell you guys who I'm going to the Halloween party as...and if anyone steals my idea, I will hunt them down and force them to watch Ed Wood movies. Ok, not really. But I'm happy with this idea and it can be done with a minimum of fuss, which is great.

Of course I'll probably have more hair, but you can just imagine me as the version that appeared before they got Mr. Jackson's approval.
