For once, I am going to post about things I love. Maybe I'll add pictures as visual aids later.
I love:
1.) Cowboy Bebop. Best Anime in the last 10-12 years, in my personal opinion.
2.) Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. It's a close second, only because it is a little denser and harder to get into at first, but well worth it.
3.) The Wire. Even though I no longer have HBO, I highly recommend this show. Get it on DVD and get ready to be amazed this show didn't win tons of Emmys every year. The Sopranos was a great show, but after several seasons, it really lost its way. This show is amazingly dense, much like Ghost In The Shell...it has a cadence and a rhythm all its own and characters are well scripted but hauntingly real. This is a world where things happen in much the same way they do in ours.
4.) The Shield. It's like The Wire, only faster in pace and grimier.
5.) Rescue Me. Tommy Gavin is quite possibly the most fucked up character on television, and yet you can't help but root for him to win, just once. And my God, does Dennis Leary end up with some hot women on this show, or what?
6.) Redheads. Someone once said that redheads are either impossibly beautiful or hideously ugly. In some cases, that might be true, but I have yet to meet a redhead I didn't think was beautiful.
7.) Girls with green eyes. I dreamt that I would meet and have a long relationship with a girl with green eyes. Go figure! So of course, I love my girlfriend Kristin.
8.) Reruns of the Adult Swim series Home Movies. If you have to ask, it won't make sense.
9.) Marvel's line of ESSENTIALS trade paperbacks. For a comic book nerd like me, being able to carry around 30-40 issues in one book is great. Especially if they're classic back issues like the Englehart run on Captain America where he becomes disillusioned and gives up being Cap.
10.) The Italian Coffee Bar
11.) That The Equalizer is out on DVD.
12.) Justice League: The New Frontier, both the book and the DVD movie.
13.) Emily Deschanel on BONES.
14.) SoulCalibur.
15. Edit: The new set with Coralee and Salome. Wow.
I'll think of more later....
