I will never understand the attack of the stupids online these days. People just seem to have their fingers connected to their assholes, because I can't believe the steady flow of shit from their keyboards. I'm so sick of people who are younger than most of my comic books who insist on offering their political opinions on shit they weren't even alive to see. You don't see me debating with some hippie about the 60s or a WWII veteran about the Roosevelt administration. I have opinions, but I don't refer to them as facts.
Someone posted "getting too touched up" on one of the sets. Ok, I get it. I like the funkier SG sets, too. But if you think that no set ever gets retouched in some way, you are living in a fantasy world bigger than the one where your "I loved it" comment gets you a chance to sleep with a Suicidegirl. I'm completely opposed to the blatant and grotesque retouching done...there's a picture of the lovely and talented Rachel Weisz on a magazine out right now that was clearly retouched...and why? She's perfect as is. The retouching makes her look like a bobblehead doll (they essentially made her body smaller, because I guess she doesn't fit the standards of what is considered hot right now, i.e. someone who looks like a refugee from a civil war). If you look at the famous Esquire photo of her as Eve with a snake wrapped around her, and then this new picture, you can see that she's a lot curvier in the older pic. Unless she's taking some new crash diet that turns her into an anime character, I can't see it.
Now that said, yes, it is jarring to see a set that looks plastic, but I don't feel the one the person commented on was so bad. In fact, whatever retouching they did (can't see it, you can see skin tone and moles on the girl, which you usually can't in a publication like, say, Playboy) really did not ruin the set.
I've just noticed a lot of assholes who remind me of the jerks you come across on message boards and on myspace proliferating here. You pay for the site, so that gives you the option to post nasty shit on sets.
Um, no.
SG is a community and while I often find the atmosphere here a bit....shall we say, oppressive....it's not our site. I mean that's the truth of it. You pays your membership fee and you takes your chances. SGC has always been vocal and sometimes things have gotten out of hand, but I've never seen any members, at least the ones I know be a jerk to an SG _about their sets_. It just smells like a bit of repressed hostility towards the girls they can't get. Telling someone they have no ass or they're fat or ugly, what's the point? Don't look at their set. I'm sure the "not for me" option helps the SG admin figure out what people want, but I've never used it. If a set isn't for me, I just don't pay attention to it.
I'm vocal about many things I don't like, but usually they're things I thought might be good but turned out to be crap. Nine times out of ten I know when a set isn't for me. I can tell just from the front page picture, normally. I just don't understand the need to try to tear someone down on a site YOU PAID FOR. You knew that the girls would look different and not the norm and you PAID FOR IT. Cancel your membership or find girls you like and comment on those. Quit being a jerkoff.
Reminds me of the creep who posted a nasty comment on Ember's blog about her failed reduction surgery. I'm sure he thought he was being honest (even if brutally so) but it was just inappropriate.
If someone behaved the same way when something bad happened to them, I'm sure there would be six months' worth of blogs bemoaning how mean people here are.
I think my main point here is: people annoy me, and I would like them to stop.
