I finally broke the mental block with my novel and figured out exactly what would make everything which preceded the current chapters make total sense.
It was right in front of me the whole time. Like most kids in my generation (growing up in the 70s) I was fascinated with space travel and the Voyager and Viking probes. I had a toy space shuttle for at least 4 years of my childhood. The idea of life on other planets has always been something I hoped was true.
But I have another idea that makes a weird sort of sense, and would also be my theory on what causes all the U.F.O. sightings over the last five or six decades.
This is what is supposed to happen. Writing is supposed to be hard, but also fun. Otherwise, why bother?
Well, other than making millions of dollars, right?
On an unrelated note, the real-life Allison Dubois is a lot hotter than Patricia Arquette. And I'm a big Patricia Arquette fan since...forever. Yeah, I'm a big fan of MEDIUM. Do I believe in psychic powers? Yes and no. I believe human beings can tap into something, but I don't believe in snake oil salesmen like John Edwards and that Van Pragh guy. I suppose I'd have to believe in weird things in order to be a good little comic book nerd. Or have an active enough imagination to suspend disbelief or enjoy these sorts of stories. However, DuBois has been debunked, and while psychics make good story fodder, they tend to be frauds in real life. Ah, well.
It was warmer today, so that's good. Lots of snow, so my sinus headaches are kicking in.
Yay!
Anyway, hope everyone is well.
