Just as in school. I rarely, if ever, do my homework.... I'm just that kind of rebel, but I do apologize!! As such, I think starting with the prompt: "Ten Random Facts About You" from @LYXZEN @CHARMAINE @RAMBO@MISSY would be a nice start/introduction:
1) Because it's October and all- 4 years ago, my insane land lady kicked me and my roommates out of our house because she was convinced I was a witch and didn't want me living there on All Hallow's Eve.... She didn't know this, but I've had a healthy obsession with witches all my life. From Samantha, to the Salem Witch Trials, to Harry Potter, to crystals, sage, astrology, tarot and tinctures. I have two witch themed tattoos now, 1 Harry Potter messenger owl on my back, and a recent naked witch on a broomstick on my leg.
2) I have 3 fur babies- 2 cats and a dog. And 1 shell baby, a turtle named Pineapple
3) I am of Mexican decent. My last name is: Ruiz Acosta, my parents are first generation American. The reason my skin is so lite is because we are "Mestizo" - meaning, of European and Indigenous ancestry. We're not exactly sure where or when our European ancestors come from, but the lovely Spanish Basque SG @yesenia has me convinced we might be coastal sisters! BONUS: My great great aunt Soledad Saenz was MARRIED TO PANCHO VILLA. My sister was gifted the amethyst wedding ring he gave her for her wedding and I snagged it for a selfie:
4) I help run a non-profit with my good friend called the Tender Heart Foundation. Our primary goal is fostering care, compassion, empathy and the idea of interconnectedness throughout the world through education, trade, and some charity. We do this by working with and selling products by a small NGO in India that empowers women, and educated children. We practice Fair Trade, and send volunteers and donations to them when we can. Currently, we're working on a service trip to India in March! More on that later:
5) I'm a 5 year +/- vegetarian, but I have a huge intolerance to soy!! I get so bloated when I indulge in that sweet bean, that I've been asked if I'm pregnant!!! So good- but soooooo baddddddddd!
6) I can play the cello and the autoharp- Not well, but if ever I get some time alone, I enjoy writing songs of heartbreak and nature, fiddling around with chords on the autoharp, and channeling Catherine O'Hara's character from "A Mighty Wind."
7) I ride a scooter named Delilah. She's a darling Kymco People 150 CC. I bought her because of an ongoing car curse- in the last year I've lost 1 1998 Honda CRV, 1 1997 Toyota Camry, 1 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and roughly $10,000. I looooovvve Delilah!! When we go up to 60 MPH on a busy street I feel like a bumble bee!
8) My favorite song of all time is Shakira's theme from the 2010 World Cup- "Waka Waka Hey Hey." It's amazing. Listen to it. Do you feel uplifted yet.?? Shakira>Selena. Deal! (If you need further evidence- Check out the "La Loba" video for her wicked dance moves. In Spanish, though. Always in Spanish when you're dealing with Shaki!)
9) I enjoy shooting with arrows! Mostly a mattress propped up against my house. I became interested in archery after reading and seeing Lord of the Rings in Middle school, like any healthy 12 year old girl... I aspired to be Legolas. Totally normcore. I feel like the power and restraint of the pull is excellent stress relief, and I love to pretend I'm a defender of sorts. I've never been a physical force to be reckoned with, but my father raised me to always believe in my strength, and never back down from a challenge- despite my small stature. This is the feeling behind my new set btw, Caccia Di Diana- A poem in which the goddess Diana is like- y'all stop fucking around with dudes, and start hunting shit. 10) I don't drink or do drugs. I just don't. I'll still go out on the town because I'm youthful, and I like to dress up and smoke cigarettes and nod rhythmically to your band with a bottle of Coke or Topo Chico in hand. Please and thank you for the good time.
BONUS: I'm a Cancer. Virgo rising, Libra moon. Meaning: I really like intimacy, nesting, deep meaningful talks, and I'm very good at impressions.
