Wow, I may seriously quit my job.
I love what I do, don't get me wrong, it's just WHERE I work. We barely ever get clients, mostly on weekends. The most I've ever had in a day is 3...wow. I need to work at a place that I have a chance of actually learning new things everyday, with a bigger clientele and a better chance for me to make commission and tips. The place I work now is not providing me with any of this, which is why I have heard of so many people where I went to school quit at the very same place I'm working. I like all the girls that work there..but I seriously can't see myself working at a place for the rest of my life with the chance of not having a client when I go to work everyday..that's not a salon, that's like playing the lottery. There are plenty others that have people in and out all day..in the mall and stuff. A lot of people I talk to didn't even know there was a salon in Ulta, or didn't even know what Ulta was to begin with. The company wants us to get in people's faces when they walk in the actual store to let them know about our salon and try to "convert" them into clients..I'm not one of those people that has a aggressive and assertive personalities..I'm also not one of those people that doesn't mind harrassing others, that's positively GAY. The schedule sucks and I'm tired of going up there to stand around like a tard, ask people if they need help finding a product, and restocking shelves 6 hours a day...if I wanted to do that, I would have gotten a job in RETAIL and wouldn't have wasted my time in SCHOOL to get a PROFESSIONAL LICENSE!!!!!! If the store really needs clients so bad that the actual hairstylists have to shove our services down their throat as soon as they walk into the store..simply trying to buy makeup..then maybe they should try ADVERTISING. Or maybe...I don't know, something like LOWERING THEIR PRICES. $35 for a haircut?!? In THIS economy?!??!???!?! I think NOT.
end rant.
