My highlight client didn't show up today
I'm all fine with that, I'd rather save that for a day that I had my handy dandy klonopin
I did have other clients to compensate though, so it was fine. Tomorrow I go in at one and work 8 hours, when I usually work 6, and I'll be closing the salon by myself...which is weird since I'm new.
A girl and her mother came in and she wanted to be all made up for prom. She wanted her hair in a formal up-do, but didn't want to expose her acne on her back, as she was wearing a somewhat backless dress, and she wanted her hair to cover it. I felt really bad for her, because it was pretty bad off, but our esthetician concealed it with corrective makeup in the facial room and also did her makeup, and I had started on her hair, but had to let my manager take over because I had an appointment while she was getting her makeup done. She turned out beautiful and she seemed to have so much more self-esteem because of the things we had done for her. I was really happy to see her happy. I love my job. I know there are going to be times where I mess someone's hair up, or I'm not going to meet up to their expectations, but it's awesome to know that there are some people who are going to feel better about something I did to them to make them feel better about themselves. It's an awesome feeling. I hope her prom went well for her, because she was glowing when she left.
I just got back from an awesome ride..we got lost for a little bit, but that was fine. I love getting out with no real destination and just riding for a while and listening to music. It's very relaxing.

Jobs like that are nice, when you feel like you make a difference. I'm glad that you like helping people feel better about themselves
