Job Hunt Update: Part V
i know it's unorthodox for me to update twice in one day, but i have good news!
the lady called me back from the Bead Shop and asked if i had biked out to Metairie yet. i admitted that i hadn't yet, and she told me that she really wanted me to check it out and see if it was an option for me. she said she was very interested in hiring me, but wanted to be sure i could work out in Metairie. so i told her i would, hung up the phone and biked out there and back.
it wasn't that bad. like i predicted, it was a little more lengthy and not as bike-friendly of a route as the way to the Magazine St. shop. but it was alright. so i called her back and told her it wouldn't be a problem. she still has to talk to her manager at the Metairie shop tomorrow, but she said that the manager seemed to like me (i met her when i went in for the interview) and that she didn't think it would be a problem getting me on the schedule.
so. hopefully i should have a job by next week. keep your fingers crossed for me!
and because i updated before y'all could see them, here are some pictures of my dogs that i took yesterday:
erm. that's it for now. i'm going to take a shower because i'm all sweaty and nasty from biking in the heat of the day. but at least i got my excercise, right?
oh, and from last entry as well:
what are you currently listening to and/or reading?
i'm reading: As I Lay Dying. it's not bad. much better than the last few books i've tried to read and haven't even gotten through. (that's right Greil Marcus, i'm talking to you.)
and listening to: the Bloc Party. i don't love them yet. i'm not even sure i like them. but i woke up this morning with "Like Eating Glass" cemented in my head. go figure.
ciao!
