o.k. ... i'm back in new orleans.
had a pretty decent trip, albeit a bit hectic.
i did buy a digital camera... later that day i discovered i was unemployed, and rued said camera. but more on my dire financial straits later. don't feel like it now.
instead. pictures.
the first thing we did was go to jules' cross. it's on the highway where the car crashed. we always leave lipstick kisses on it. we try not to get run over, too.
the Somerset Mall. heh. Mel took this picture of me on the elephant, and these two kids (they were like 14, maybe) stopped to gawk. imagine a red-neck, small-town version of the kids that hang out in front of Hot Topic. yeah. they tried to hit on us (i think? again... they were like 14!), but we shot them down with our powerful "no-fucken-chance" eye lasers. they kicked their feet for a bit and left, crestfallen. we cackled.
drinking coffee in my parent's kitchen. there was nothing to read except gardening magazines.
...apparently the magazines pay off. my mom has incredible gardens. me on the porch.
this is Zoe in the back yard.
we had to go to a funeral. this is me and mel dressed like girls.
this is the lake (well, the creek that leads to the lake) that my aunt and uncle live on. i took this picture from their boat house, which i wish i had a picture of, because it's this insanely cute floating shack that is older than any living member of my family. and there were baby turtles there, too.
memorial day we went and visited jules. this is a picture we took lying on top of her. the flowers in the top right hand corner were all from my mom's garden. she kissed them and told us to tell jules she loved her. we are all three insane.
we always put three little rose buds by her picture.
mel in the graveyard. well. memorial garden. jules had more flowers than anyone else we saw. we were proud for her. ha.
there are more, but my dad has to send them to me. including hilarious hair-tangled-up-with-body-jewelry-at-dinner pictures. yes. indeed.
also. anyone in the new orleans area that knows of any art-related or teaching-realted (or, god forbid, art teaching-related) employment. let me know post haste. i don't want to move. well, i do. but i don't want to move bacause i'm destitute and have no other choice.
love.
