ahoy!
it's been a while since i've updated, so i thought i'd make this one interesting to look at, at least.
so i bring you...
the week in pictures:
did a shit load of carving. this is me working on the block for the Bill Fick/Cannonball Press thing-a-ma-bob.
taking a smoke break in Rhys' work shop. i don't care how silly my furry boots are. i love them. they keep my feets warm.
i realized on Wednesday i needed another print for an upcoming show a friend of mine in Atlanta is putting together for displaced New Orleans artists. so i stayed up for 36+ hours (i lost track around hour 24) and worked almost non-stop on this block. this is a 12" by 12" lino-cut. you might notice one of the letters is backwards. because i have to write/draw/think backwards all the time, sometimes i forget which way certain letters are oriented. "J" is one of those letters.
here's some more prints. i had to take pictures to submit them to the aforementioned show. they look much better in real life. i had to compress the hell out of them to get them to fit here. a lot of detail is lost in translation. and you can't fuck with my detail, dude. honestly. it's nuts.
"Blue Lady II"
"Self-Portrait with Harpies" (this one is actually unfinished. don't tell.)
here is a random picture of me sitting in this bad-ass smoking chair that Rhys' mom got me at a yard sale. it fits me perfectly, and i honestly believe i could rule the world from a chair like that. i wish there was actually a fire behind me in this picture... it would make it ten times as sweet.
then yesterday we had the iron pour. there are more pictures in my "Adventures" folder. i just don't feel like putting them all up.
i think that's about it.
i have to finish cleaning the house, and then get back to image-making. woop.
love to all, and specialest thanks to Cheech for my care package!
xoxoxoetc.
-Hyena.
