Oh god, those red boots nearly killed me.
They were $8. You could get any mixed drink you wanted in them. But they were doing a special called a Cherry Popper. Oh man, gut rot central. If you brought back the boot, they would give it to you for $7.

I have tonnnns more photos on FB. Check em out. smile

Do you remember a time before texting? before email? When people had to actually talk to one another to communicate. I miss that, a lot. I've been feeling disconnected lately, which I'm sure is only being exacerbated by the fact that my birthday is in two days (I'm commonly affected by the birthday blues and this year is absolutely no exception). Seems the only people...

haha well I'm beginning to think that a second of that attention would be waaaay nicer. Half an hour of that attention all at once is just overwhelming.

Happy birthday smile

A time before emails and texting... it is actually getting hard to remember. I do try my hardest to keep in touch with my friends for some real face-to-face time. I'm also really into writing letters these days, I find it way more fun than emailing.

My birthday is in a month, and I almost always get mopey for that tongue Hope yours is good.

So I'm finally getting around to writing about my awesome time in Vancouver! I went up on Saturday for the SG Night @ Shine. Before hand I hung out with a group of lovely members from the SGBC group, including DannyDiggs, Wolfmystique, Moonrabbit, Parker_ and Corded6. These guys were all so nice! It was great to get out of Seattle,...

No, we ended up walking 4 or 5 blocks and then bussing. I think I got to bed around 5. Strange drunk guy on the bus started talking to me once Danny left. All around good times though.
kirah:
Hahahaha! That guy was hilarious. I knew he was harmless so I guess the other guy was creepier.

Okay this is going to be mostly a lame post, so I thought I would start with something positive!

There is this rad re-purposed furniture store in my neighborhood called Space Oddity that I've been frequenting since I first moved here. My friend, Mira, who lives in my building, raves about it frequently, but until recently I just haven't loved anything that I've seen there....

I love Space Oddity! Their prices are really reasonable, but not like Ikea cheap because it is crap and will fall apart, but like OMG this should cost 2k but is only $400.

We were in there last weekend and they had this side tables with blue tile tops that I really loved, but just couldn't make a decision on...

Reading this makes me smile. I have also tried the online dating thing - but I find all I get is fucking weirdos. I set up two dates (recently) with people & they both canceled the date on the day of and never talked to me again. WTF.? So I'll never know if it was something I said or did. Either way, online dating has been this sort of mysterious orb for me. Previously, I'd been on a couple dates through it. They went fine - but I guess I'm just picky. Because after meeting them - I just couldn't see them fitting into my life. It had nothing to do with physical and everything to do with something else I was picking up on.

I did meet a guy last weekend that I am totally lusting after but I don't think he's into me. frown We met at the bar (I know, I know. I was out reviewing shows tho... ) and we shared a epic evening together. This kiss in the rain under my umbrella - a la the movies. Talking for about 2.5 hours that evening as if nothing else was happening around us & then continuing the convo until 6AM. Him taking me for brunch the next day & hanging til 3PM. I don't know - we had these really awesome convos and I was like, he's pretty rad. He asked to take me out last week. Got my number. And then -- surprise surprise -- no phone call.

I'm thinking of taking a man sabbatical. Cos I'm kinda over it. Blah. So babe, I totally know how you feel.

Wow back on the east coast, crazy! I almost feel like I never left, things at my parents house feel exactly the same.. I still have to wear 1 ear plug to drown out the sounds of my dad's TV (i'm mostly deaf in my left ear so I only have to plug the right one) my parents seem the same.. if not better actually.....

I wish I could see you - now that you're back on the east coast.
Alas, I don't think it will work. Le sigh. frown
I think it's super rad tho that things feel like you never left home.

As for the whole marriage / kids thing - I'm totally feeling you on that.
I remember when I was younger, I had this "plan".
I wanted to be super focused on my career. And, I didn't want to get married / have kids til I was 30 yrs old and able to support myself and support having a child.
I think it came from my mom having me when she was super young (she was 19 yrs old) and always struggling. I never wanted to put my child thru that.
Now that I'm 26 yrs old, in no serious relationship and meeting douchebag after douchebag - I feel like my plan is failing miserably.
It kinda sucks, ya know. I know I'm not quite there - but still. frown
Anyways, adoption sounds quite interesting. Would you adopt a child from a 3rd world country (a la Angelina) or from the USA.? (a la Juno or 16 & Pregnant)
aandp:
*shakes fist at Canada*

Yes, I would imagine it is a rather LARGE thing to think about. However the fact that you've thought about it at all is a large step in some direction. Coolio.

Today was pretty good! Work was a little rough around the edges but overall a pretty good day, given that I've been rocking the insomnia pretty badly this week.

This evening I went to trivia in Capital Hill, as I do every Tuesday. One of my friends, friends has been really hard to get to know.. which is sad b/c she is SUPER cute. When...

Today was long! But I've been really enjoying a blossoming new friendship so that is great! I also helped introduce someone to couch surfing friends and that is great too!

I miss Beta SOOOOO much (also the toast). I cannot wait to see her in just over a week when I go home. I've been so sick of spending my nights alone so I'm super...
