Finally found a volunteer opportunity! I initially decided to try and volunteer at the Seattle Aquarium, however they contact me back saying I couldn't start until October.. boo. After hearing that I wasn't sure what I was going to do but then it hit me, farmer's market! I generally go to the Ballard Farmer's Market every Sunday. I like going there, I enjoy being outside and being around people and seeing all the lovely local food and vendors being available to so many people! So today while at the market I decided to ask someone about volunteering and had a really nice conversation with one of the organizers. So hopefully I'll hear back from her this week and start working at the market shortly! It would be a really good opportunity to get out and meet some people in Ballard and put my time into something that I believe in!
I've decided I want to start growing my own vegetables! At first I didn't think this was an option for me since I (a) Don't have a proch or (b) can't get into a p-patch as the wait times are really quite long. But a friend recently suggested a garden share! I'm going to start looking into finding a garden this week and start learning about how to grow my own vegis! Stoked!
Friday night I went down to Tacoma to hang out with Cruella and friends. Had a great time and some tasty "cake"!
