Hellllllo internet! I've been meaning to update for awhile now but have been sort of slacking, mostly b/c I just haven't had a lot to say. Seattle has been awesome, but lonely and I'm just not a fan of blogging about my loneliness.. seems so pointless. Not that I didn't know it was going to be lonely when I moved here, i mean moving across country to a place where you don't have friends or family, it is just to be expected.. but that doesn't mean I have to like it, or blog about it
In other news I've been enjoying work for the most part, yay for actually doing something i like! The only downfall thus far is that I don't think i'll make any really good friends at work :/ That and this fucking groundwater modeling software i've been using the last few days, which I have prior experience with, has been a total disaster to use. It is extremely powerful software, but not exactly intuitive. Further I've been working on a model that someone else built... the best way I can describe it is that basically I've been asked to put together a car, with tools that I don't know how to use.. that someone else started putting together before me, but didn't leave me any instructions. Needless to say I basically hate this software, but in time I hope that I get more comfortable with it. One thing I really like about work is making my lunch every day and eating some homemade tastiness, for example;
gluten free garlic and chive bread, local greens and apples, homemade humus, tomato and green pepper with a tasty sun dried tomato vinaigrette.
One reason that I might be a little down about the loneliness is that I've been doing a ton of domestic stuff, like going to target and ikea to fill my apartment. So from my point of view Seattle is full of couples!! However buying stuff for my place has been fun! Take a look at some of the new additions;
my bedroom has a halfway, which is awesome for openness, but sometimes it is nice to close things off with these fancy sliding room dividers!
Speaking of my bedroom, I got a new duvet cover (finally), hanging lamp which i heart and a nice print for my room!
Another view of the print
I also got new dishes!
And the first addition to my living/dining room; sexy floor lamps!
Lastly it was really nice a few days ago and I TRIED to get a picture of Mt. Rainier from the roof my building, but my camera just wasn't up to it, but here it is anyway;
Okay that is all I have for now, in the mean time I'm going to go ask the cute barista, who is working at the coffee shop i am sitting in right now, if she wants to hang out sometime! wish me luck

so i totally recognize all that stuff.
haha, amazing.
aww, i wish i could run over to seattle & give you a big hug. <3
don't feel lonely babe.
& about the software - trust me. i know all about stepping into someone elses shoes without any instructions.
last year, i was on a maternity leave contract running a festival that had been running for four years.
noone left me any instruction on how to do anything. and i was expecting to run the entire thing.
front to back. back to front.
stressful at best. i wanted to cry everyday. but i got it done. and apparently, people have come up and said i did it better than ever.
so you CAN and WILL do it.
Ikea chic.
Apparently some people like that look.
Just saying.
