I literally helped save someones life.....
I cant go into details about what happened, (do to privacy laws and what not) but I just found out this evening that I helped saved a teenagers life. I really cant describe how I feel. I'm so happy yet so humbled at the same time. I honestly thought that we would have a completely different outcome, so the fact that the person is alive just moves me deeply. I choose my career because I wanted to help people, to make a difference in the world. Yet as classes went on people kept saying "oh no, its the doctors that actually save the lives", which of course started to get me down. But today I learned that, because of the actions we took, we were the ones that actually gave this kid a fighting chance, and now he's responsive and will make a full recovery. The complete opposite of his first prognoses. God, I'm so moved right now, I can finally go to sleep knowing that I actually made a difference in someones life, and I will continue to do so for the rest of my life.

The young ones are important aren't they?
