While I love to think about what life is like elsewhere in the world, I still take these findings with a grain of salt. I mean no one has ever seen an exoplanet with any kindo detail. The highest resolution picture I've ever seen the planet was like 12 total pixels.
This is HR 8799 b
There's probably better pictures, but nothing that'd tell us anything useful about the most important aspect to sustaining life: what kind of a magnetic field it has. Without a magnetic field, a planet has an atmosphere as thin as Mars'.
But that's really immaterial as there's billions of galaxies out there (that we know about, could be trillions), with trillions of stars, of which god knows how many have planets. The chances of life being on another body besides earth is a mathematical certainty. We just gotta keep looking and we'll find it. Well that and we need to build better ion propulsion systems. Much better ones.
and a mustache ring is just that...a ring in the shape of a mustache!
