lets see, Indias oldest oral tradition are the vedas, wich are texts composed of hymns. Veda means "knowledge." There are four compilations (books) and the length of each one is spectacular. But did you know that for most of its known ancient history, no written text of the vedas ever existed. and even more fascinating is that they were instilled into human memory exactly as a part of hindu faith. They are likley to be as old as 1800-1500 BC. That is incredible considering the average fucker can't remember what he ate for breakfast.
