So it would appear that Christmas is not yet over.
A couple months ago, I posted a blog asking for donations to my IMAlive volunteer fund. Basically, I needed $250 to begin crisis volunteer training and whatnot. Someone known only by the initials M M got me started with $25, followed by $10 by someone who apparently raised a little extra. This was it for a while, and with no other bites, I'd pretty much given up. I knew I wouldn't be able to raise the other $215 by myself. Also, I felt kinda bad because giving up would mean I'd wasted their money. So tonight while browsing through my emails, I found my original activation email with my donor link in it. So, I clicked it just to see if maybe, just maybe, someone else had thrown a few dollars my way.
Oh, the shock.
I don't know who M M is. I don't know if s/he is one of the few people on my Facebook with those initials, or if s/he is just an anonymous stranger. What I do know, however, is that M M gave me the best Christmas gift I could have wished for. If you're guessing that s/he donated the remaining $215 I needed, you're right. I'm still in disbelief.
So to M M, though you may never see this, thank you. I intend to turn your generous gifts into hope for those who need it most.
I can't wait to start the training.
On another unrelated note, I'm making it my new years resolution to, you probably guessed it, lose weight. How unoriginal, right? I'd love tips, stories, recipes, suggestions, etc, anything that could help! <3
